Robin Hood

While the King is away, the people of England suffer under the oppressive rule of his tax-happy brother, Prince John. Only a straight arrow like Robin Hood, the best archer in the land, can save England! By stealing from the rich and giving back to the poor, Robin keeps the spirit of justice alive, with the help of a few friends along the way, including Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, and Little John. But what if the Prince and the dreaded Sheriff of Nottingham lay a trap for our hero? With all the humour and fun you come to expect, DuffleBag hits the mark with this on-target tale of derring-do!

Your theatre company was at Robert Ogilvie School today in Fort St. John. I have been teaching for 20 years and I have to say that was the best school performance I have ever seen. It was so funny and you know when the most in attentive students sit entranced for over an hour, you have done a great job. Well done. My Kindergarten students talked about it all day!

The show was excellent and kept the students well entertained. Both staff and students were talking about it throughout the day. They loved that the kids got to be actors in the play and that the jokes were great for multiple ages. At the PAC meeting later last night, the parents were mentioning that all they were hearing about from their kids was how funny the show and jokes were.

The presentation was amazing!! One of our grade four students told them it was the best performance that she had every seen. They loved it. I would highly recommend the group to anyone. I actually just emailed ArtStarts yesterday to tell them how much we enjoyed it. The kids were talking about it all day and I saw a teacher from another school last night and she said her school loved it as well. I happened to call the high school in Queen Charlotte while they were performing and the secretary told me that the high school kids were laughing away. It was so cool to have the students as the stars of the play. Please pass along our thanks and compliments! It was a really exceptional performance.

We LOVED the presentation! They did a great job and the students and staff thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you so much for coming to our school - I could hear lots of participation and laughter!

- Melissa Altman, J Alfred Laird Elementary, Invermere, BC

The children loved the performance. They had a great time and many went home and told their parents about the show. It was great to have the children laughing, so engaged, and just having a good time. It was wonderful.

Just wanted to say that our staff and students just LOVED the DuffleBag Theatre production of "Robin Hood"! You can tell the performers that the flying rubber chicken was still talked about this week. Their selection of actors/actresses was ideal and those students especially enjoyed the chance to shine. Thanks again for offering us another quality production (but I never expect anything less!)

- Linda Moczulski, Hussar School, Hussar, AB

I saw them in Vancouver at the Showcase and they were awesome and that is why I booked them. They did not disappoint - they were incredible.

- Steve Bentley, Windermere Elementary, Windermere BC

I sat with the youngest kids and they could hardly contain themselves they loved it so much. When I asked some of the 'cool' grade 6ers, they liked it too. And when I looked at the staff during the show, they were laughing at all the adult references. Not often do we get a performance where it was liked by the entire audience!

- Scott Robinson, Marlborough School, Calgary, AB

It was awesome! The timing was perfect. We want them for every inside recess day!!! But seriously it was engaging, lively and fun. We enjoyed watching the student involvement and as active as the performance was, the actors really had control of the kids. We will definitely have them back.

- Tammy Neufeld, Bowcroft Elementary School, Calgary, AB

DuffleBag was top drawer! Nothing but praise from grades K-12 including staff. Two staff members said it was the best performance we've had for addressing all age levels! I personally loved it, exceeded all expectations!!!
